An experienced Delaware intellectual property lawyer, Paul E. Crawford represents clients in a wide range of IP matters including due diligence, licensing, patent interferences, right to use, litigation, prosecution, unfair competition and trade secret law. He also acts as local counsel for numerous companies litigating in the District of Delaware.
With a mechanical engineering background, Paul was the Governor's appointee to the Council of the Delaware Association of Professional Engineers for nearly 15 years.
Prior to joining Panitch Schwarze, Paul was an attorney with Novak Druce Connolly Bove & Quigg LLP, where he was a member of the firm's Asian Pacific Practice. Knowledgeable of patent and IP issues in Asian countries, Paul served as a keynote speaker in China where he advised Chinese IP judges on aspects of intellectual property law. Before earning his law degree, he was a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Paul has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America as an intellectual property law practitioner in Delaware and prides himself in providing good, common sense advice that carefully balances the risk/benefit equation underlying litigation.
He has put his extensive litigation experience to use as a coordinator of prisoner rights litigation for the District of Delaware Federal Civil Panel, a post to which he was appointed by the Delaware District Court. He later received the Caleb R. Layton, III Service Award, an annual honor presented by the judges of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware to those who personify the qualities of a federal practitioner through legal acumen, professional decorum and public service. The District Court also appointed Paul to the Third Circuit Lawyers Advisory Committee, on which he served from 2003 to 2005.
