Gail Ruopp, Executive Director of Panitch Schwarze and an experienced law firm administrator, recently wrote an article for Law Practice Today about simple ways that a law firm can protect its clients’ private information. In the article, Ruopp explained that law firms are regularly the target of hackers and that it is crucial for attorneys and law firms to stay abreast of developments in cyber security.
Ruopp recommended that law firms research cyber liability insurance, include their cybersecurity policies in letters of engagement with new clients, and make cybersecurity education a priority for the firm’s attorneys.
