Partner Philip L. Hirschhorn recently spoke with Managing IP, a leading source of news and insight into global intellectual property trends and topics, about making a lateral move during the ongoing pandemic of novel coronavirus. Hirschhorn is quoted in Rani Mehta’s article, “How five IP lawyers adapted to new jobs during COVID.”

Hirschhorn told Managing IP that moving to Panitch Schwarze in March 2020 was made easier by the presence of other former colleagues who already had joined the firm, including partners Erin M. Dunston and Travis W. Bliss, and patent agent Stephany G. Small. The group had worked together at a previous firm so already had established relationships and understood one another’s skillsets.

Adapting to a new firm during a pandemic can be challenging, Hirschhorn said, but taking the time to get to know new colleagues and paralegals while working remotely can help the team learn how best to work together.
